For a long time now, it has not only been concert halls and auditoriums that place high demands on room acoustics. Especially in the working environment, the reduction and compensation of acoustic interference sources plays an important role. Studies have shown performance losses of 10 to 20% due to poor room acoustics. The consequences were a poorer ability to remember and concentrate and a higher error rate. It turned out that human speech is the main source of interference. The research findings have been incorporated into the new formulations of DIN 18041 and VDI 2569 in which the Hörzentrum Oldenburg was involved. Both directives will be published in 2016. In addition, the Hörzentrum Oldenburg is the author of various professional journals, e.g. www.buero-forum.de/uploads/media/11_Schall-und_Laermwirkung.pdf and books in the field of room acoustics and extra-aural factors. The Hörzentrum Oldenburg cooperates with the büro forum (www.buero-forum.de) in the area of lectures.
Hörzentrum Oldenburg operates the pre-competitive Forum Office Acoustics (FOA) in Auditory Valley together with HörTech gGmbH and Akustikbüro Oldenburg (www.akustikbuero-oldenburg.de). www.forum-office-acoustics.de. Six manufacturers have joined forces here to ensure better working conditions in the office sector.
The Hörzentrum Oldenburg offers a wide variety of research services in the field of office acoustics:
